Turn this wacky counting story into a playful day of learning with these five ideas:

1. Counting and Stacking Apples

Extension: Try skip counting by 2s or 5s.

Give students apples in different colors and have them create a bar graph.

Extension: Discuss “most,” “least,” and “equal” for a fun intro to data analysis.

4. Apple Math Word Problems

Act out apple-themed addition or subtraction problems using apple cutouts.

Extension: Invite students to write and solve their own apple-themed math story problems.

5. Apple Art + Writing

Have students draw themselves with apples stacked on their heads. Then write a sentence or two about how many apples they have.
